Taking Money Away from the Pentagon and Giving it to the People by Ryan Birss, Jul 14, 2008 (11:30pm)

The Common Sense Budget Act cuts 15% of the Pentagon’s budget and redistributes it to other government programs such as education, health care, and the environment. The programs that would be cut are all left over projects from the Cold War. I think this is a great idea. Lynn Woolsey and her 44 cosponsors show that there are actually some members of congress that will actually stand up to the Bush administration and the military industrial complex. Hopefully the ball can get rolling on this legislation as soon as possible.
