H.R.1843 - Save Our Small and Seasonal Businesses Act of 2007 by Joel Schlachet, Jul 24, 2008 (9:08pm)

This bill will change the cap rules of temporary, non-agricultural workers in the US under the H-2B Work Visa, allowing more and more workers to come to the US temporarily provided they follow the rules of the program. Opponents of the bill claim that the immigrant workers are stealing US jobs and the cap should not be extended for them. However, this bill is supported by a variety of interest groups such as the hotel and landscaping industries that depend on these temporary workers during busy seasons.
