With California’s election behind us, we’re proud to report that 2022 marked a record year for Voter’s Edge, our comprehensive online voter guide packed with information about candidates and ballot measures from the top of the ticket down to the local level for California voters.
Voter’s Edge, available in English and Spanish, allows users to explore candidates' priorities, endorsements and top donors, as well as ballot measure explanations, campaign funding, and news stories. This year, 2.2 million people took advantage of our guide. That’s about 1 of every 5 voters who cast ballots (California is still updating its vote counts). Ultimately, that means voters can make informed, confident decisions – a key pillar of a healthy democracy.
This year Voter’s Edge was proud to work with our media partners at the Los Angeles Times, KQED, KPBS, KPCC, Capital Public Radio, KCRW and others to fill the guide with valuable information about every race on the ballot. Voters also used Voter’s Edge to find their polling place or vote center and to mark their choices to bring to the polls or share with family and friends. Voter’s Edge is a joint project of MapLight and the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund.
